The harp is well suited to both indoor and outdoor settings. Only a 4-foot-square space is necessary for setup, and there are no lighting requirements. The sound of the harp is full and mellow. While amplification is available, it is most often unnecessary.

The repertoire played depends largely upon the atmosphere of the event, and may include classical and Baroque, Renaissance, holiday, original, and popular music.
